That would be my suggestion, or at least dream for you. My friend has a waist-high island in the studio that people can stand around + work at, I love it! Unfortunately don't have the room myself. I have a suggestion for "drawers" for paper, but will have to sketch it out for your “contractor” + send it to you (him).
