Leg Work

I've spent the last couple of days doing what I guess you'd call legwork - searching for supplies, suppliers, etc. It's been tough and exhausting work, and it's much more a part of having a business than I'd ever imagined. Products get discontinued, prices change, shipments are incorrect and it just throws everything off. Sometimes it's fun - getting new paper patterns, finding a great coloured bookcloth - and other times, it's just darn frustrating. I have to say though, I did find something that I've been searching for while I was on holiday - a printing press! Well, at least I think it's a printing press. Sadly, I don't think this is the one for me - although the green paint is pretty, something tells me it's not in working order. And, I couldn't bear to displace the family of spiders living in it. Legwork is definitely tough and tiring - but so rewarding when you finally score that *one thing* you've been searching for for weeks! Thank goodness for the internet!

Oh, come-on, a little oil + rust remover...you need another poject (like you need a hole in the head). First off I want east access to a Paper Source store, it would just be a whole lot easier! Second, I would like to stop paying more for shipping that for the actual item when I am just looking for that one thing that weighs less than a pound, but costs over $10.00 to ship??????
Yes, indeed- frustrating. I'm learning to buy all I can afford when I find something I love just in case it's discontinued.

WOW! I should really learn to re-read my comments before I hit "publish." I spelled things correctly, but used the wrong words.

I dreamed my entire life of owning my own store, I did, eventually. I also went through the misery of having to close it's doors but whenever I think back on what brought me joy it was the "Finds" and sharing them like a child swapping stickers at school. The lesson is it's all about the journey as there is NO desitination. So leg it and love it!
